Sloths, like the Three Toed Sloth, live in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. Tropical rainforests are located in warm and humid climates, or otherwise called "tropical". Tropical climates do not change very much throughout the year. Seasons don't vary much in temperature, and precipitation is consistent throughout the year. Tropical climate is sunny, warm, and humid. These kind of locations make for great vacation spots. Many different species of plants and animals exist in tropical climates. Some animals one might encounter are the Golden Lion Tamarin, Toco Toucan, and King Cobra. Tamarins are very small monkeys that needed ways to escape predators in order to adapt to the environment, and were given the gift of speed in trees. Toucans are a species of bird, and the Toco Toucan possesses a 6 inch long tongue to get bugs and other food out of trees and other hiding places. Lastly, the King Cobra is a large venomous snake that has developed the ability to inject whatever it bites with deadly poison. Plants present in rainforests are orchids, Buttress Roots, and carnivorous plants like the Venus Fly Trap. One major problem facing rainforests is deforestation. Deforestation is the removal of land from certain areas so man made structures can be put in their place. A way to stop forestation is simple: find other places to put resorts and hotels. The amount of forest taken away is ridiculous and it needs to stop. Resorts do not need to be placed in such sacred places. Sloths do not do a whole lot. They spend most of their lives hanging out in trees and sleeping. Sloths are very slow and are not a very active species. The ecosystem supports it by providing trees and leaves for the sloths to live in and eat. My species competes with other animals that eat tree leaves, like some monkeys. Monkeys are much quicker than sloths, so competing for food must not be too hard for the primates.
